Machine Setter Operator – High Pressure Aluminium Foundry

Position: Machine Setter Operator – Die Cast

Department: Foundry

Reporting to: MWPL Production Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful applicant must be flexible and required to contribute towards the smooth running of the Site.

 Duties will include:

  • Operating of casting machines.
  • Covering all aspects of High Pressure die casting machine setting and operating.
  • Setting of all machines on the foundry area when required. Die changes.
  • Die maintenance – to include general clean, grease and repair of dies and preparing dies for production runs.
  • Melt, treat and distribute aluminum to furnaces
  • Ensuring the machines, dies and equipment are maintained. Basic die repairs.

In addition to the above roles and responsibilities other tasks will be allocated following discussions with successful applicants.

Qualifications required:

Applicants must have a broad based production and mechanical engineering background, (such as would be attained via a Craft Apprenticeship), or be working towards a relevant qualification. Experience of the Die casting process and it’s sub processes, all aspects from tooling through to casting processes.  Fully understand the implications of Health and Safety and Environmental issues that relate to the Die cast area.       

Terms

37 hours per week.  (08:00-16:30hrs Monday to Thursday, 08:00-13:00hrs Friday)

20 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Salary dependent on experience

Manufacturing Engineer

Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Department: Site

Reporting to: MWPL European Operations Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the European Operations Manager
  • Providing Technical support to the Engineering aspects of the business.
  • Supporting Indian based projects on other commodities.
  • Supporting the European operations Manager with customer projects and the business diversity strategy.
  • The costing of production processes and customer enquiries.
  • Tooling concept, Design and modification.
  • Producing CNC programs for VMC’s, HMC’s and lathes and setting up new jobs.
  • Improvement of current work processes on site.

This role is extremely diverse and will require the candidate to be able to operate comfortably in a hands on and desk based role. The sector is mainly automotive and produces products for both Original Equipment and after market applications.

Experience and Qualifications:

The position would suit someone with a minimum 8 years’ experience in an engineering role, and qualified as a minimum in a mechanically based HNC.
